Solar pool heaters and solar spa heaters from MySolarPower
This section will not attempt to cover the now vast ranges of solar lights that are available but will offer a taste of what MySolarPower can make available to you.
Solar Garden lights and solar water features.
Solar garden lights still encompass the traditional small solar lights that we all know but now extend to solar patio lamps, solar lanterns, solar decking lights, pathways posts, solar spotlights and string lights – the list continues but needless to say that although many are entirely practical they tend to be designed to enhance the look and feel of the garden, and tend to be easy to install and environmentally friendly. The majority are fairly straightforward insomuch that they charge up during the day and at night, illuminate automatically. As an addition to the “solar garden lights” there are now all of the additional solar water feature lights which we have covered in the water feature section.
Solar outdoor building lights (barns, sheds, garages, stables, summerhouses etc)
Solar powered lighting has become very popular and practical when it comes to lighting outside buildings where they are not connected to the mains, or perhaps where you are genuinely trying to use as much renewable energy as possible. Solar outdoor building lights can also be a practical application for buildings relating to some industrial and commercial uses.
Quite often it is also not entirely practical to extend cabling to outside buildings without extensive and expensive ground works and the need to hire qualified electrical engineers.
Most of these systems are powered from PV solar panels which simply charge a battery during daylight hours and from which, you simply drawer power at night – the size and cost of the system and the size and types of batteries that you select will depend the levels of daylight obtained and the frequency of use of the building at night – as we have discussed in other sections a suitable deep cycle sealed leisure battery should suffice.
For solar-powered lighting systems, the use of higher efficiency lights should be a matter of serious consideration, as the cost of a solar energy system is determined by the average energy consumption and the predicted running times.
Solar security lights
Solar security lights span that bridge between concern for personal and property security whist keeping costs down and decreasing our personal carbon footprint.
Installing solar security lights are easy to install, there are no operating costs, and they are bright.
Again, like other systems we have discussed, solar security lights work on the principal of solar panels charging internal batteries during daylight hours with the light illuminating at dusk / night when it detects movement – exactly the same as standard security lights.
Solar street lights
Yes – some manufacturers are now able to offer solar powered street lights, ideal for streets, paths, car parking areas and are suitable for areas where electricity supply is not practical. Illumination is dusk until dawn and is fully automated. One of its great benefits is that it is quick to install so it is still a practical option even if the requirement is a specific location is temporary.
